Topic: How International Business is Good for our Community

 

Since its founding in 1990, GlobalJax has hosted more than 2,300 emerging leaders from 170 countries in our community. We strive to enrich people’s lives through a variety of events that introduce professionals in the Northeast Florida academic, business, healthcare, government, and cultural communities to their counterparts from abroad.

 

The panel discussion with explore how exchanges of ideas, processes, and concerns enable us to share our best practices with leaders from around the world, often resulting in subsequent business, educational or cultural opportunities. Moreover, the insight we gain from an expanded global perspective us to make a more positive impact in our professional and personal lives.

Joined GlobalJax in 2007

 

Andrea serves as GlobalJax’s chief executive and spokesperson. In that role she focuses on promoting the mission of enriching people’s lives through global engagement, managing our team of staff and volunteers, developing new projects and partnerships, fundraising and providing strategic leadership in conjunction with the board of directors. Since joining GlobalJax, she has been a significant contributor to the organization’s accomplishments, including over 2,300 successful visitor programs for emerging leaders from 170 different countries. Andrea is passionate about helping Northeast Florida reach its potential as an international destination for tourism, commerce and living.

 

In addition to her work at GlobalJax, Andrea enjoys volunteering near and far, serving at local agencies including The Sanctuary on 8th Street and The I.M. Sulzbacher Center and travelling to New Orleans and rural Guatemala for work trips aimed at disaster recovery and community development. In 2013, Andrea was honored as one of Jacksonville’s Finest in recognition of her fundraising efforts on behalf of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

 

Andrea completed her undergraduate studies in Economic Development and Business Administration at The University of North Florida.

 

Global Visits: Andrea has traveled to Argentina, Canada, Egypt, Germany, Guatemala, and Spain
