Purpose of Committee:

To devise and execute alternative networking opportunities for the members of the South Council above and beyond the twice monthly scheduled lunch meetings and in accommodation of diverse calendar demands of the membership; to enhance the retention and recruitment of members and their membership “experience”.

Ideal Event:

Accommodates minimum of 30 people and is free of charge to SC members
Committee reserves right to charge non South Council members when event logistics warrant such.

Accountabilities for Events:

  • Any sponsor MUST be a Chamber member in good standing
  • A South Council member in good standing has first right of refusal for any sponsorship opportunities
  • Insure proper logistics: parking, time frames, attendance, sponsor responsibilities
  • Submit to Chamber for approval according to established protocol
  • Coordinate timely promotion/marketing
  • Planned in advance for quarterly scheduling

Duties of Members:

  • Research/evaluate all potential venues, sponsors
  • Cultivate relationships with potential sponsors
  • Solicit door prizes
  • Develop plans for consistent quarterly events
  • Communicate with Marketing Committee for expedient promotion
  • Collaborate with Professional Development committee for economies of scale
  • Assist Recruitment & Retention committees with utilizing events as drivers of membership
  • Attend monthly meetings (4th Thursday)
